|Address:||116 East High Street|
|Architectural Style:||Greek Revival|
|Year Built:||c. 1865|
|Original Owner:||John Byron Wright|
Very little is known about John Byron Wright, who is the most likely candidate for building this home, except that he owned a good deal of property in the Mount Vernon and Knox County area. The home possesses a well-proportioned pediment, rectangular windows with plain stone lintels, and the entrance is surrounded by sidelights and transom. Small plain brackets have been added around the pediment and the entablature, but do not distract from the overall Greek Revival appearance of this building. A very elaborate front porch with columns and brackets projects from the front door, and is a later addition to the home.
